چکیده

Wideband impulse response measurements have been made in residential and light industrial areas of Ottawa, at 29 GHz. Based upon these measured data, we have estimated the parameters of adaptive equalizers that would be required for LMCS/LMDS systems receiver over a range of bit rates. The results should be useful as a guide to specifying modulation schemes and a channel model for evaluation of candidate PHY layers for the 802.16 interoperability standard. Purpose For 802.16.1 to consider the input to form a standardized channel model for evaluation of candidate PHY layers for the 802.16 interoperability standard. The Future Generations of Mobile Communications Based on Broadband Access Technologies

The forthcoming mobile communication systems are expected to provide a wide variety of services, from high-quality voice to high-definition videos, through high-data-rate wireless channels anywhere in the world. The high data rate requires broad frequency bands, and sufficient broadband can be achieved in higher frequency bands such as microwave, Ka-band, and millimeter-wave. Broadband wireless...

1. Introduction Radio on Fiber (RoF) system can provide low-cost and high-performance radio-wave distribution by using remote access units (RAUs) where lightwave modulated by radio-wave is converted to radio-wave by a high-speed photodetector (PD) [1]. In microwave bands, RoF systems are successfully used for mobile services to provide signals to the mobile terminals located at such shadowing a...

Millimeter-wave Gbps Broadband Evolution towards 5G: Fixed Access and Backhaul

As wireless communication evolves towards 5G, both fixed broadband and mobile broadband will play a crucial part in providing the Gbps infrastructure for a connected society. This paper proposes a Millimeter-wave Gbps Broadband (MGB) system as the solution to two critical problems in this evolution: last-mile access for fixed broadband and small cell backhaul for mobile broadband. The key idea ...

Broadband Fixed Radio Access

The requirements for the digital signal processing of broadband wireless access systems are investigated. A discussion of different multiple access schemes considering the boundary conditions of future services is given, resulting in a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) proposal. The dominant TDMA component is the adaptive equalizer. Different eligible equalizer structures and adaptation algo...
